oreo cheesecake

Recipe

This recipe is for an easy, no-bake Oreo cheesecake. It's the only one I've made myself, and I loved it. :)

1 1/4 c. chocolate cookie crumbs
3-4 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. whipping cream
3 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1 c. white sugar
approx. 30 Oreo cookies
whipped cream (optional)

Crust: Combine cookie crumbs and melted butter; press into 9-inch dish. Place crust in freezer. Whip 1 1/2 cups whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate until ready to use.

With electric beater, whip cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and blend. Coarsely chop about 24 cookies and fold into cream cheese mixture. Fold in whipping cream. Spread filling in crust. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours.

Garnish with whipped cream and cookie halves as desired.

You may be able to substitute whipped cream (e.g. Cool Whip) for the whipping cream & sugar, though I haven't personally tried it. Enjoy!
