These are fanlistings that I would love to own. If they are currently approved at TFL, I mean no disrespect to the current owner, and I'm sure all owners do a very lovely job. These are just ones that I'd love to run, given the proper opportunity. They are in order alphabetically, not by preference, and narrowed down to what I like to call "The Unfortunate List". For the longer, "Hitchhiker's List," click here.
Actresses
Angelina Jolie - Angelina is one of the most gorgeous and talented women in Hollywood. She's not just another pretty face, though, she's also involved in the world, as evidenced by her work with the United Nations. Plus, the fact that she's incredibly sexy doesn't hurt. Angelina is actually the person that made me realize I was bisexual. I realized I didn't want to be her, I wanted her. That sure changed my outlook on life.Animals
Cats: Siamese - My first cat was part Siamese, and my second is a full-blooded Siamese. They're definitely cats with personalities, and they let you know what they want, when they want it. And loudly. I can't imagine being without a cat, and to me, Siamese are the best.Dogs: Chow Chow - My dog was half Chow and half Keeshond, but he took after the Chow side more. He was the sweetest thing, and I miss him dearly.
Animation
Eeyore (Winnie the Pooh) - How can a donkey be so gloomy, yet so loveable? Eeyore's my favorite Disney character of all time. The Lion King - This is the first movie I ever saw more than once. I know every line from it, and every song. I can tell you all the characters names and I know what Hakuna Matata means, as well as Rafiki's chant of "Asante sana, squash banana, wewe nugu, mimi apana." It's my favorite Disney movie, and I still cry every time, even though it's been over a decade, and I know what's going to happen.
Characters
Willow Rosenberg (BtVS) - What's not to love about Willow? She reminds me so much of myself it's scary. She's a computer nerd, she's written fanfic, and she's a witch. Other than the fact that I've never gone evil or slept with a werewolf, we could be twins.Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) - Hogwarts' resident know-it-all is my favorite character in J.K. Rowling's world. She's what I've always wanted to be, brave and smart. Well, I've got the smart thing down, but definitely not the brave.
Nature
Rocks - Ever since I was little, I've been obsessed with rocks. I collected them from everywhere, and I still have a large collection of stones that mean something to me. There's one I picked up on the beach at Dover and one I found by the road in Arlington, just to name a couple. I feel better if I have a rock in my pocket that I can rub when I need to find inner peace.Relationships: Book/Movie
Hermione Granger/Ginny Weasley (Harry Potter) - Ah, what can I say about this that won't be obvious? Hermione needs female companionship, because goodness knows she doesn't get it from anyone in her year. Ginny is the obvious choice, and whether you choose to interpret it as friendship or romantic love, there is a bond between these two.Anakin Skywalker/Obi-Wan Kenobi (Star Wars) - "They knew each other better than brothers, more intimately than lovers; they were complimentary halves of a single warrior." And yet despite that, they end up on opposing sides of the Force, Obi-Wan fighting for good, Vader representing evil. Beneath it all, though, I believe they still cared about each other.
Relationships: TV
Willow Rosenberg/Tara Maclay (BtVS) - Willow/Tara is actually what got me into Buffy, and they are my OTP (one true pairing). I heard that there was a lesbian couple on network TV that wasn't just a one-time thing. So I started watching. Unfortunately for me, it was during Season 6 when they were broken up. I kept watching, hoping they'd get back together. Finally, to my immense relief, they did. Then, mysteriously, the show ended. Yes, I am still in denial. Willow/Tara reminded me so much of me and my ex-girlfriend that we swore Joss was secretly watching us and using our lives as a basis for their relationship. Until the whole magic addiction thing kicked in. I can't even think of Willow being with anyone else, not even dear old Oz, as much as I love that character. I just can't see him with Willow. It's fundamentally wrong. I still cannot read or even write Willow/Tara fanfiction the way I would like to because it seems like an intrusion on their (our?) personal lives. Yes, I realize they are fictional characters, but it still feels that way.The Doctor/Rose Tyler (Doctor Who) - "If I believe in one thing... just one thing... I believe in her." The first episode of Doctor Who that I ever saw was Rose. A simple human shopgirl meets a fantastic alien - a Time Lord - and is sucked into his life faster than you can say Gallifrey. Their relationship grows from there, hinting, a la The X-Files, at a romance, but never going beyond a few chaste kisses and hand-holding. Rose sticks by the Doctor through thick and thin, after dozens of near-death encounters, when she could easily return to her normal life. She loves him. And the Doctor loves her, never telling her, though he does try. It's a wonderful love story that always leaves me wanting more. It's a romance without being mushy or even being overtly romantic. It's beautiful and heartbreaking and so many other things that I don't have a name for. It's perfect.
